以色列犹太裔女歌手伊斯特·奥法林，自1970年起她就是音响发烧友的梦中情人凡男性听到了她的嗓子，就想向她求婚；她的歌声太美了，太亲切了。”假如你 没有听过她的歌，那你赶紧找一张回家听听，说不定还会写情书给她。这张被誉为二十世纪最佳女声天碟之一的专辑1972年由德国ART唱片公司录制，由大眼 妹Esther Ofarims 主唱，当年的确是发烧友人手一张 LP 或 CD做为人声试音之用。Esther她以德文、拉丁、法文、土耳其、意大利和希伯来唱出很多国家的民谣，比如说Rataplan这是根据法国民谣改编的歌 曲，叙述着国王追求臣属之妇的过程.....；Hayu Leiloth这首歌是希伯来文，描述一对犹太情人，在埃及相恋的过程中，虽然双方发誓要同生共死，但是有一天男方被征召去服劳役之后再也没有看过他了， 女生悲伤之余不禁问着苍天.....；Nique Nac No Muse这是法文歌，藉以表达对缪斯女神的赞叹，缪斯女神是希腊神话中，九位掌管诗词、歌曲、舞蹈、历史等女神的称呼，一般也作为对诗人的雅称；La Scillitana这是意大利歌谣.......。虽然全碟录音时间长度才35分钟多一点，但我们听听Esther那清丽脱俗、磁性中充满真挚情感的声 音，就不难感觉出她是绝对的实力派唱将。总之，这是一张绝对值得我们收藏的好碟。

一听钟情唱片公司购得版权后委托日本JVC公司以XRCD技术处理母带，于1999年推出了XRCD2版《Esther》。本版本由马睿先生与制版大师 Paul Stubblebine及JVC的Tohru Kotetsu合力泡制，将这款曾哄动一时的女声天碟提升至非凡地位。XRCD2版本的整体清晰度大大增强，Esther的咀形非常靓，聚焦非常好，喉音 的质感更加清纯干净；而且乐器的活生感亦变化多端，牛筋与敲击的音效比旧版明显胜出一截。第五首“Nique Nac No Music”在廿五秒的一下牛筋拨弦和拍打声，震动力之强直透心底，旧版真是相形见绌。“Pamparpam”的音场感与空气感极佳，各种敲击乐器的音色 来得格外清爽轻松，十分得意过瘾。乐曲旋律动听，录音够发烧，感染力至高。
歌手履历：
Esther Ofarim，6岁开始在以色列登台演出，是天生的天才歌手，18岁左右开始录制唱片，期间与征服Abi Ofarim合作，Abi多数为Esther伴唱或吉他伴奏。在走进录音室前，Frank Sinatra已经与她签了几场演出合同。
1961年Esther参加以色列歌唱比赛，同时以不同的两首歌获得前两名，Saeini Imcha便是当时获得第一名所唱的歌曲。
1962年的专辑唱片“Hayu Laylot”奠定了Esther作为以色列首席歌手的地位，这期间的经典歌曲太多了。
1962年Esther参加在波兰举行的国际歌唱比赛，凭“秋天”一曲拿了第一名，之后就与Abi旅居瑞士。
1963 年Esther代表瑞士参加Eurovision欧洲电视网络歌唱比赛，这是欧洲最高级别的歌唱比赛，Esther当时演唱的是法文T'en Vas Pas（请别离开），当评判宣布Esther是第一时，全场欢呼，但在确认分数时，由于北欧国家的评判作弊，Esther被拉到了第二（当年同届参赛者著 名的希腊女歌手Nana Mouskouri代表卢森堡拿了第八名，分数却还不到Esther的三分之一）。这个事件成为了Eurovision有史以来最大的丑闻，但 Esther从此便红遍欧洲，并在世界范围出版她的唱片。
Esther期间在欧美发行的唱片都非常畅销，1965年Esther 在美国录 制了一张百老汇风格的专辑唱片“Is it really me!”，监制、编曲以及乐队指挥都是Bobby Scott，A Taste Of Honey的作者。对于Esther，Scott觉得如获至宝，他认为不管在编曲上有多高的难度，Esther都应付自如，是天生的天才。Esther从 最高音一下子转到低音，是那么的自然，毫不吃力，高音时直插云霄，低音时柔情似水，以致于一些芭芭拉史翠珊的歌迷不得不承认Esther的才华，转而追随 Esther。
“Morning Of My Life”是Bee Gees所作的歌曲，单曲唱片的版本是由Bee Gees伴唱的，专辑唱片里的版本，当然是Abi伴唱，收录在“2 IN 3”专辑中。这张专辑的最后一首歌曲“Cinderella Rockefella”，“无厘头”风格，在一次英国DJ的误播下迅速走红，而后出版的单曲唱片在欧洲各国荣登榜首。次年，Esther与Abi再接再 厉，把他们的名曲“One More Dance”改编重新灌录，这首歌讲述一位爱跳舞的贪财女子偷情的故事。无法理解的是，当Esther在欧洲大红大紫时，她的歌曲却在以色列被禁播，唱片 禁止发行，直到1967年才解禁。

Esther在波斯语是指「星子」的意思，而Esthr做名字时代表着二种意思，一个是于家中握权的女人，倔强而古板；另一个则是美丽的女子，甜美又文静。
